Provides Internet Access to NJ Libraries. Auto-Graphics Inc., a
leading supplier of information and database resource-sharing
systems, has announced that it will provide its Impact/ONLINE
system to more than 480 participating libraries in the Eastern
New Jersey Regional Library Cooperative, called
INFOLINK.Impact/ONLINE allows libraries to access information via
the Internet. INFOLINLK's union database holds more than 1.2
million unique titles and 4.1 million holdings, including books,
journals, reports, audio cassettes, and video tapes from the
University (Langsdale Library)
- Baker & Taylor
on the Internet As of September 1995,
Baker & Taylor has ceased print production of Academia, its
magazine for university, academic, and research librarians, and
begun electronic publication through its WWW home page. Academia
provides monthly bibliographic information on nearly 2.000 titles
of interest to the academic community, profiled and arranged by
subject area and by academic level.
- Berkeley Digital Library
recently announced by Sun Microsystems of Mountain
View, California, is a new site on the World Wide Web that will
serve as a showcase and repository for information on digital
libraries. Expected to grow to more than a terabyte of data over
the next few years, it is being hosted on a Sun SPARCcenter 2000
server. Sun and the UC Berkeley Library will work collaboratively
on content to be made available on the site.
- CISTI's Online Catalog
over the Internet. Access to the online catalog of the Canada
Institute for Scientific and Technical Information (CISTI) is now
available free using the Internet. The catalog is a list of
titles for all major publications (serials, books, conference
proceedings, reports) in the fields of science, technology,
engineering, and medicine worldwide. It is updated every week.

COPAC is a new
nationally accessible Online Public Access Catalogue. Based at
the University of Manchester, COPAC provides searchers with
centralised access to the online catalogues of some of the
largest university research libraries in the UK and Ireland.
COPAC is normally available 24 hours a day 365 days a year and
access is free of charge.

The Institute for Scientific Information (ISI)
has announced the release of Journal Tracker, its new,
direct-to-the-desktop, table-of-contents alerting service for
individuals. Journal Tracker is drawn from the multidisciplinary
ISI database of over 8.000 leading international science,
technology, and social sciences journals. It is based on a
customized profile developed by the researcher with the help of
ISI information specialists.

The Physics Information Network (PINET) has announced
that its online service will be available over the Internet's
World Wide Web. PINET is sponsored by the American Institute of
Physics (AIP), a major publisher of physics research and related
information. In addition to an extensive collection of databases,
news, and research, PINET will offer automatic document ordering
from AIP's SPIN database, which contains 10 years of abstracts
from over 80 core physical science journals.
